What is Reflexology

| What is Reflexology? |

A Reflexologist will apply finger and thumb pressure to specific points on the hands and feet, referred to as reflex points, in order to support the healing process of an individual.

Reflexology is essentially an alternative therapy which uses specific points in the soles of the feet, that correspond to the organs in the body, to stimulate the energy and the organ’s own healing ability. Reflexology has been around for thousands of years, used to both treat ill health and maintain good health.

Today, Reflexology is an incredibly popular form of alternative therapy, and despite being a traditionally Eastern practice, is now performed all over the Western world. Reflexology is a holistic therapy, which is one that treats the person as a whole, rather than focusing on just one ailment. Sometimes one aliment can have a knock on effect to other areas of a person’s health, and so it makes sense to treat each individual on their own basis.

Reflexology can help treat conditions such as MS, hormone imbalances, breathing problems, anxiety, allergies, digestive complaints, aches and pains, and much more. Experienced Reflexologists have the ability to diagnose ailments, purely by examining the reflex points on the soles of the feet.

Technology has opened up new doors for reflexologists too, giving them tools to make their work even more accurate and allow them to track and analyse patient data with greater ease. Reflexology has stood the test of time, and is a popular alternative therapy, practised and received by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.
